Travis McMichael, the man who fatally shot Ahmaud Arbery in February 2020, was sentenced to life in prison in a federal courtroom on Monday. His father, Greg McMichael also received a life sentence, while William "Roddie" Bryan received a sentence of 35 years. The trio had petitioned to immediately go to federal prison to serve their state sentences citing safety concerns, but were denied by the judge.


The three white men who murdered Ahmaud Arbery for minding his business jogging in their neighborhood have been found guilty of hate crimes.
