Living R&B legend Anita Baker took time during her show to thank Chance The Rapper for an excellent reason.

It’s that time of the year again as BET celebrates black excellence and acknowledge those who continue to push the culture forward at the BET Awards.

In the late hours of a May 27, a comical yet bizarre one-sided Twitter beef was sparked between R&B divas Cheryl Lynn against Anita Baker. As facts have been uncovered, the “To Be Real” singer has been the victim of identity theft. And it’s not the first time, either.

Well here’s something you see NOT NEVER. Two music legends whose fanbases largely don’t even know what a Twitter is going at it like today’s superstars.

Despite being known for her sultry baby-making music through much of the 80s, in 2014 Anita Baker is a wanted fugitive–according to Detroit police.

Mary J. Blige was the special honoree at the Vibe magazine Impact Awards in Los Angeles Friday (Feb. 8). Blige was singled out for her longstanding music career as well as relationship with the publication, of which she has been on the cover of 10 times.
