Black Lives Matter

A Black business owner was forced to pull herself together after being attacked by a racist over her store's mask policy. According to a local publication, ALX Now, Abyssinia Market & Coffee House, a Black-owned Virginia based coffee shop was vandalized and the owner, Lily Damtew, was spat on after asking a white customer to wear a mask, a new policy Damtew enforced upon the reopening of her store. 

Iconic family sitcom, The Wonder Years, is coming back to TV, only this time it's going to be all Black. According to published reports, the 1988 coming-of-age dramedy set in the late 1960s and early 70s that told the story of teen Kevin Arnold (played by Fred Savage) and his suburban family, is now getting a reboot that will tell the story of American life during the pivotal Civil Right Era from a Black perspective. Produced by Lee Daniels, the reboot will be set during the same time period, except it will focus on a Black family in Montgomery, Alabama.

The radio host/comedian is now ready to have an important conversation with the Black community following the recent string of gun violence across the country.

Breonna Taylor's family is once again speaking out about new details regarding the murder of the 26-year old EMT after a new report reveals that she was actually still alive after being shot in her home. On Monday (Jul 6), Breonna Taylor’s family, who is currently in a lawsuit against police and the city of Louisville, revealed that Taylor was actually still alive after being shot more than 8 times while sleeping in her bed and only succumbed to her injuries after being denied medical attention by the detectives. 

Naturally the video was shared on social media by 16-year-old Sierra Gilmer, an activist and board member of the New Generation Freedom Fighters, a group advocating for social justice. After garnering thousands of views and disgusting thousands of people, Sonya Holt was promptly fired from her job at a Johnson City vision company who wanted no parts of the backlash that would inevitably come with their former employee's presence.

During a segment on Lemon's nightly CNN program, the actor voiced criticism over Black on Black violence with the host correcting Crews by saying that's not the aim of the BLM movement.

Minister Louis Farrakhan had some choice words for those in power and skeptics with his latest speech, "The Criterion." Delivered on Saturday ( Jul 4), Min. Farrakhan addressed the current state of affairs in America, the world, the coronavirus global pandemic, and other critical subjects including the onslaught of racism and police brutality in America, and the death of one of his disciples Abdul Hafeez Muhammad, on Independence Day, which also marks the 90th anniversary of the existence of the Nation of Islam in America. 

Guests who really missed looking at the tribute to the losing side aka the confederacy were greeted by the beautiful site of ARMED Black protestors on Saturday (Jul.4).

The incident occurred in Martinez, Calif. on the Fourth of July.

Instead of focusing on pertinent matters, the former business mogul aimed his frustration over Black lives mattering.
