On Thursday afternoon (March 14), the Fader Fort stage at SXSW was heating up but rapper 10k.Caash was feeling the chill from the crowd. “Damn,” he said. “I know it’s early but can y’all turn up wit’ ya boy?’” A woman in the crowd giggled and then whined, “It’s early…”  

Coming next year, Anthony Anderson will star in a new film Beats, which focuses on Chicago’s Hip-Hop scene, most especially in the Southside section of the sprawling city. Anderson will play a down and out manager who crosses path with a teen prodigy and the film will feature Dave East and Dreezy as well.

Chicago keeps creating it. It’s latest artist to generate some buzz on the streets come by way of 22-year-old female rapper/singer Dreezy.

The “Princess of Chicago Rap” herself Dreezy stopped by HipHopWired to talk to us about shining in a room full of stars and why her “melanin is popping.”

Miguel joins artists like Jay Z, Beyoncé, and Chris Brown in speaking out against the recent string of Black deaths at the hand of police on a song titled “How Many.”

The Game is already releasing new music, despite just releasing the Streets of Compton soundtrack last week. His latest track is titled “All Eyez,” featuring Jeremih and production by Scott Storch.
