Outkast hasn’t really been part of the music conversation lately, despite the consistent studio work from Big Boi since the Atlanta duo’s Idlewild album in 2006. With the success of N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, could a movie delving into the background of Outkast enjoy the same kind of success?

There’s no telling how many remixes Big Boi has up his sleeve, but he delivers his latest today. Titled “Lanes,” the track features A$AP Rocky, Phantogram, and A-ha.

Backed by a live band and singer Phantogram, Big Boi closed out last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! with a performance of Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors track “CPU.” The crowd was receptive to the pinch of funk added by the live band’s brass section to the otherwise synth-heavy jam. x

This A$AP Rocky kid is steady winning. Big Boi, aka Sylvester The Unskippable is dropping a new album, Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors, and one of it’s featured guest is the Harlem rapper on “Lines,” heard here.
