No Limit Colonel Master P continues to get his philanthropy on as he has partnered with HUD to rebuild the B.W. Cooper Housing Projects in New Orleans. The new community will be named Marrero Commons” after Yvonne Marrero, a well-known neighborhood activist who died after Katrina. Master P himself was reared in B.W. cooper, also known as the Calliope Projects in New Orleans.

Doing what most rappers won’t or can’t, Master P will be working with HUD secretary Shaun Donovan and hopes his fellow MCs will start taking part in bringing up the communities from which they made it from as well. P stated,

“I want to be able to show these guys look at me. I changed my image, I changed my life and I had to grow up. I’m honored to be a part of the ground breaking alongside President Obama’s right hand man, Secretary Shaun Donovan who shares the same goals as me, which is to help B.W. Cooper residents get back into their new homes.”

Residents are expected to be able to move into their new homes at the end of 2010.

As previously reported, Master P will also be teaming up with OneMillionGifts.org by donating his money and volunteering his time to help accomplish the great mission for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season, which will be to feed and clothe at least 1 million of our world’s less fortunate.
