The governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger himself, is the latest elected official to rally behind President Barack Obama. He spoke out Tuesday saying that he supports the President's health-care reform ideas, in particular his goal to refurbish the health care system completely.
Governor Schwarzenegger released a statement saying that he appreciated Obama's partnership with the states and his effort to hold down costs and improve quality. He also urged lawmakers both Democrat and Republican to "move forward and accomplish these vital goals for the American people."
He's not backing the President completely however, he did not endorse any of the Democratic-crafted bills in Congress.

Kwame Kilpatrick just can't seem to catch a break. The former Mayor of Detroit claims to have cleaned up his lifestyle and is on probation in Texas. Now he has 10 days to hand over financial records to prosecutors that claim he's violated his probation and is hiding funds owed to his former city.
Since his infamous days in the headlines Kwame's been relatively quietly. He's been working as an account executive at Compuware Covisint in south Texas, concentrating on health care. Now after he's been spotted driving around in “fancy cars” like his Cadillac Escalade and living in a million dollar mansion, prosecutors are curious.
Kilpatrick's attorney is defending his client however saying that the Escalade was a “gift” and should not be reported to the city. No word on the mansion. Kilpatrick will have to make an appearance in court October 29 to clear his name.
When Kilpatrick pleaded guilty to charges of assault and obstruction of justice, he agreed to pay the city of Detroit $1 million in restitution while serving five years of probation. He's been ordered to pay $6,000 a month toward his debt.

Some of the nation's most prominent civil rights groups are uniting for a common cause. The NAACP's National Voter Fund, The Leadership Conference On Civil Rights, The Campaign For Community Change and PowerPac.Org are coming together to push health care reform on their devotees. The groups will run television and print ads in states with high minority populations, in particular Florida, North Carolina, Louisiana and Arkansas. The ads will run in English and Spanish.
The organizations released a statement saying the ads,
“Are part of a grassroots effort to ensure that members of Congress appreciate the importance of reform to the people of color they represent.”
One of the ads features a Black narrator speaking on the millions of people without health insurance saying:
“‘I'm not going to let special-interest politicians throw 46 million of us under the bus….”
The coalition is pushing for a public option policy in the healthcare reform bill. The ads are expected to cost between $250,000 to $500,000.
