Obama Statue In Indonesia Removed After Complaints
Officials have removed a statue in Indonesia depicting President Barack Obama as a child amid controversy and complaints.
The bronze statue shows the President at 10-years-oldwith a butterfly perched on his thumb.
The statue was placed in a park in Jakarta in December, the day before the President accepted his Noble Peace Prize.
Protestors say that an Indonesian hero should be honored with a statue instead of the President although he attended school in Indonesia from 1967 to 1971.
They also mentioned that the President could enforce policies that could “hurt the countries interest.”
The statue has been removed from the park to the elementary school the President attended as a child.
