Allen Iverson's Takes Indefinite Leave To Care For Ailing Daughter
Allen Iverson's career has been put on hold indefinitely due to ongoing issues with his daughter's health.
In a statement, the Sixers confirmed that Iverson has been given a leave from the team indefinitely to deal with a personal issue related to the health of his young daughter.
"At this time, we feel that it is in the best interest of the Sixers, Allen and his family that he be allowed to deal with a very serious issue that is far greater than the game of basketball," team president and general manager Ed Stefanski states.
According to Yahoo! Sports, Sixers' coach Eddie Jordan addressed the team on Sunday (February 21), telling players that there was a chance Iverson would not return to the team.
Iverson missed five games and the 2010 All-Star Game in which he was voted to start in earlier this month to deal with his daughter's health problems.
At press time, the timeframe of A.I.'s absence as well as the problem ailing his 4-year-old daughter Messiah has not been disclosed.

yes Allen Iverson is a great basketball player, but his family should come first. His daughters health isn't good so he should be able to take a break until shes better. if times allow he can come back and continue his love when his daughter gets better.
The fact that Iverson even knows his daughter is sick puts him ahead of many of professional athletes who breed children like rabbits and then think a support check constitutes fatherhood. If Iverson is willing to put his family ahead of his contract, that says a lot about the degree to which he has matured as a person, and I commend him for it.

I love this guy, he has a big heart so of course his family will come first. He is a fighter and I'm sure that rubs off on his daughter so yes we will continue to pray for her health that she will be healed..
