Nas & Damian Marley Announce Tour, Album Artwork Revealed

Nas and Damian Marley are still prepping for the release of their Distant Relatives album tying Hip-Hop and reggae to their African origin.

As previously reported the two confirmed that the fuse of music would hit stores May 18. Progressing further towards the date, the pair is hitting the road for a tour.

Q-Tip Confirms Work On “Good A** Job”; Working On Various New Projects

Once news broke that Kanye West was on the verge of making his return to rap and dropping an album that went back to the principle of “real Hip-Hop”, countless names started to appear on who will be working on the album, Good A** Job.

One name mentioned was rapper/producer Q-Tip who has come forth to shut down all of the speculation and state that he is actually working with West on the upcoming project.

Along with West, a discussion with Brooklyn Bodega revealed what other artists the rapper will be helping in terms of production.

Writer For “The Wire” Dies

The man that penned the critically acclaimed HBO Series “The Wire” has passed away at the age of 48.

A spokesperson for HBO confirmed that writer David Mills died Tuesday of a brain aneurysm.

The network has since released a statement saying,

“"HBO is deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our dear friend and colleague David Mills. He was a gracious and humble man, and will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him, as well as those who were aware of his immense talent. David has left us too soon but his brilliant work will live on."


Mills was filming in New Orleans for the upcoming HBO series “Treme” when the tragedy took place.

He is also noted for writing for “ER”, “NYPD Blue,” “Kingpin” and HBO mini-series “The Corner.”

AZ Returns to Classic With “Do Or Die 2”

New York must be starting to jump on this sequel bandwagon when it comes to album releases.

First Raekwon, then Capone-N-Noreaga and now rapper AZ looks to be revisiting his own classic debut with the upcoming release Do Or Die 2.

Already starting to put in heavy work, it has been reported that the rapper has reached out to producers such as L.E.S., Buckwild, Pete Rock and D.R. Period, who were all the original team for the original album.

Looking to infuse sounds of the new age, he is also looking to get help from Kanye West, Dr. Dre, DJ Toomp, GZA and even wants to refuel the magic in rapping with (more...)

Hold on, didn't these two JUST record a song , “Massive Attack” together?

Apparently, the recording process behind Nicki Minaj's first single from her upcoming debut album has caused a rift in the relationship between Barbie and songwriter Sean Garrett.

Once the music video for the single drops, one will wonder why the singer isn't even featured.

According to reports, Garrett was responsible for penning the track for the female rapper and Nicki made the decision to change up some of the lyrics that is on the finished product.
