Nas Owes IRS $3 Million; Wants To Reconcile With Kelis
Looks like Nas is joining the growing list of rappers that are having trouble with the IRS; but it seems that Nas has topped them all, with debt amounting to more than $3 million.
According to court documents, Nas owes$3,365,671.26, an increase from the $2,584,206.31 lien the IRS filed last week against him.
In addition to tax problems, Nas who was ordered to pay his soon to be ex-wife Kelis more than $200,000 in child support is working hard to revive their relationship.
According to sources for TMZ.com, the Queensbridge rapper has voiced his desire to reunite with Kelis via a series of e-mails that detail where the pair can meet “face to face.”
Despite Nas' attempt at reconciliation, Kelis is reportedly adamant about divorcing the rap star as she enters a relationship with a new boyfriend.
The TMZ sources also states that Nas is apparently unaware of the consequences for not paying child support, which could result in jail time.
The rapper reportedly made $50,000 for a performance during the Sundance Film Festival, but according to the sources, spent the money before leaving the festival.
The couple, who has one son, was married four years before Kelis filed for divorce in 2009.
SMDH... Can't blame Nas for wanting to reconcile because in this case it is cheaper to keep her.
