Maxx B Wins Appeal, May Be Out Sooner Than Expected

It looks like Maxx B may have another chance at freedom after previously receiving 75 years  for his role in an alleged robbery gone bad that resulted in murder.

Max B's manager Joli O'Shay told XXL Magazine that the former Jim Jones associate was recently granted an appeal in his murder case and is waiting for his actual appeal date.  O'Shay stated,

“He's gonna try hopefully to go back to trial, or get it a mistrial or get it time served, whatever we can do.”

As previously reported, the conviction and sentence comes from his role in a botched robbery that resulted in a felony murder at a  hotel in New Jersey.  Max B, along with Kevin Leerdam  were convicted on charges of felony murder, kidnapping and armed robbery.

Waka Flocka Flame Released, Set To Drop "Flackavelli" Mixtape

As previously reported Waka Flocka Flame was arrested in Houston County, Georgia for parole violation.
While details were very scarce, there was confirmation that Gucci Mane's protégé , real name Juaquin James Malphurs, was on parole after being arrested for possession of a sawed-off shotgun.

Now however everyone's favorite 1017 Brick Squad member is free.

Murderer Of Malcolm X To Be Released

The man who killed El Hajj Malik El Shabazz a.k.a. Malcolm X in cold blood, is set to be released from jail.

Thomas Hagan is the only man to admit to assassinating the leader and was found guilty of murder for his shooting death on February 21, 1965 on the stage of the Audubon Ballroom.

The convicted killer was granted parole on March 3rd and is now scheduled to be released on April 28th.

It must be the routine for rappers to go through a name change when they get to a particular point in their career.

Bow Wow dropped the “Lil” , Killer Mike became "Mike Bigga", Game dropped “The” and Diddy has changed his name as often as people change their drawers throughout the week.

Maybe instead of dropping names, folks should be dropping albums and mixtapes before they get dropped by their respective labels.

The latest rapper to do a little spring cleaning and do away with the old is Young Jeezy as he is looking to change his rap alias.

Jermaine Dupri and Janet Jackson Reunite For "Why Did I Get Married Too"

Although the love may have ended between the two, business is far from falling as it related to former couple Janet Jackson and producer Jermaine Dupri.

As Jackson is preparing for the release of Tyler Perry's sequel, Why Did I Get Married Too?, the singer is creating the first single for the soundtrack which will be produced by Dupri.

Titled “Nothing” the track will be co-produced by Bryan Michael Cox and will be hitting iTunes on March 30.

With the film set for a release on April 2, Dupri stated that a deal was made with Perry and the single will show a revitalized Jackson.

Romeo Miller Lands Animated Film, Comic Book Series

Master P's son Romeo Miller is continuing to add to his growing lineup of entrepreneurial and media endeavors.

As previously reported, Romeo confirmed that he was starting his own record label and continuing work with his College Boys Hip-Hop group after his departure from the University of Southern California basketball team.

Now however he's taking things to new heights with an animated movie and comic book series.

Label Tells Joell Ortiz To Start A Beef If He Ever Wants To Drop

For fans who are wondering what the holdup is on the Joell Ortiz album, Free Agent, Joell answered it via Twitter.

In a series of tweets, Joell spoke about his disappointment in the lack of support from his label.

“It's crazy to be on a label that says that no one knows me but when i get outside. the car horns beep and all yall yell YAOWA!”

“Its funny cause when I tell them to let me go cause Im such a burden the whole convo changes. I dont give a f*ck”

Although Joell has two singles in rotation that are burning up radio airwaves, “Call Me” and his remix to Lloyd Bank's “Beamer, Benz and Bentleys”, “Nissan, Honda, Chevy,” the label still feels that he is not received by (more...)
