Tuesday, March 9th, 2010Woman Sells Ghost Spirits Online For $3,000
Tuesday, March 9th, 2010A New Zealand woman is $3, 4000 richer after selling the “ghost spirits” of a deceased couple online.
Avie Woodbury says she hired an exorcist to bottle the spirits of ghost living in her home and confined them to two jars in holy water.
She says he hired an exorcist after having strange occurrences in her home like water boiling by itself, hearing voices and items turning up missing.
An exorcism was performed and the spirits were contained in the holy water, a practice she says “puts them to sleep.”
The winner of the bid war was an electronic cigarette company for $5,000 in New Zealand currency, roughly $3, 4000 USD.
No word on what they plan to do with the souls.
Woodbury says she'll donate the money to a charity for animals.
I've said it before and I'll say it again.
I swear we can't make this stuff up.

Six Women Hospitalized After Butt-Enhancing Surgeries
Tuesday, March 9th, 2010The quest for a fuller bottom turned out to have consequences for six women as they were hospitalized after receiving injections that looked to enhance their rear ends.
Reports state that the procedures went wrong, according to state health officials, and were administered by unlicensed providers.
Since the incident, the women have undergone surgery and provided antibiotics, but there have yet to be any arrests.
According to officials, the material within the injection is the same that is used by contractors when they caulk bathtubs.
"The same stuff you use to put caulk around the bathtub," said Steven M. Marcus, according to The Star-Ledger, executive and medical director of the New Jersey Poison Information and Education System, who learned about the bizarre procedures through a committee he sits on that monitors outbreaks in the metropolitan area.
Gregory Borah, chief of plastic surgery at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, using such material can cause abscesses that look like big zits and only emphasize the fact that patients must seek licensed professionals when undergoing such treatments.
"Fortunately, these women are being treated and are recovering," said Tina Tan, the state epidemiologist. "But there is the potential for more serious complications if these infections are not treated early and properly."
