New Rules Cutting Crack Cocaine Sentences Put Into Effect
It's about time. For far too long we've known about the crooked Rockefeller Drug Laws where charges for crack outweigh those charges for cocaine thus sending more Black people to jail (high users/dealers of crack) than white people who tend to be able to afford the pure white.
CNN reports that thousands of prison inmates convicted of crack cocaine charges will be released early due to sentencing changes easing the disparity between the penalties for possessing or distributing crack vs. powder cocaine.
