Just when the incessant arguing between female rappers cooled down, Azealia Banks and Nicki Minaj started things back up again. The whole situation seems like a big misunderstanding, but one thing is for sure: when you argue with Banks, she will clap back, and it won't be pretty.
The Harlem rapper was asked to tour with Minaj in Europe, but turned down the offer. Banks tweeted that she denied the request to finish her album, then Minaj wrote (to no one in particular) “#ManTheseB-tchesDelirious,” Monday (July 30).
Her words obviously didn't sit well with the 21-year-old who wasted no time responding. “Did you mean… “delusional?” … Delirious was the wrong word. @nickiminaj ….” she retorted. “Use good grammar when insulting others. *proper grammar.”
Banks continued with a statement about the plight of new rappers in the game. “I don't believe ‘Rap Game' hierarchy …….. Sorry,” she continued. “Studio !!! Just wait until I drop this album…..LMFAOO just wait !!! You b-tches are gonna f-cking GAG!!!!!!!!!!!”
The awkward exchange is unfortunate since it appeared that they were on good terms, even after Banks slandered the Barbie in print. “The butt, the hair, the this, the that, all the other sh-t, like... As much respect that I have for her, we've seen you do this already, what else can you do?” she said in an interview.
Of course Minaj isn't totally innocent either. Her epic battle with Lil' Kim looked like it would never die down, but thankfully they haven't exchanged insults in a while. Banks also had a Twitter squabble with Kimmy Blanco, so perhaps she and Minaj could have bonded over the subject.
To be fair, Minaj didn't call Banks out by name, so there's no solid proof that she was addressing the “Aquababe.” On the flip side, how dope would it be if these two ladies just played nice for a while?
