Mitt Romney Accuses President Obama Of “Trying To Fool” Voters

Mitt Romney has a message for the voters of America: President Obama is being misleading.

The Republican candidate spoke to reporters aboard his plane Sunday (Sept. 23), where he called the president out for attempting to make him look bad, and “trying to fool” voters into thinking that he supports certain policies.“The president will not be able to continue to mischaracterize my pathway,” he said. “I’ll continue to describe mine, he will describe his, and people will make a choice. That’s the great thing about democracy.”

In Romney’s eyes, the commander in chief is using deceit as a campaign tactic. “I’m not going to try to fool people into thinking he believes things he doesn’t. He’s trying to fool people into thinking that I think things that I don’t, and that ends at the debates.”

The specific issues in question include Romney’s views on liquidating the auto industry, social issues, and taxes, the latter of which has been a hot-button topic handicapping the former governor’s campaign. “[It’s] not that they particularly get to me, but I think that they’re inaccurate,” he added.

Romney also outlined abortion as on of the things that he has been wrongfully accused of being against. “He [Obama] says I’m against abortion, even in case of rape and incest. That’s wrong.

“I understand that politics is politics but in the past, when you’ve had an ad which has been roundly pointed out to be wrong you take it out and you correct it and put something back on. He keeps running these things even though he knows they’re wrong and saying them in rallies, even though he knows they’re wrong.”

This week each candidate will focus on swing states, with Obama and Romney both heading to Ohio, a pivotal location in any presidential election. Obama won Ohio in 2008, and currently leads Romney among voters in the state.
