Jack Taylor has done the unthinkable. Again. The 5-10 junior guard for Grinnell who made history for scoring 138 points in a single game cracked the century mark last night as he scored 109 points to lead his team to victory against Crossroads, 173-123.

Believe it or not, 53 of those points came in the first nine minutes of the second half for the one-man wrecking crew.

Via ESPN:

Against Crossroads College, in Rochester, Minn., Taylor was 35 of 70 overall from the field while playing only 29 minutes. He made 15 of 17 foul shots.

“Just like last year, I couldn’t have done this without my teammates,” Taylor said. “I give so much credit to them. This truly was a team effort. I’m thankful for the program and the people I have playing with me.”

Taylor scored 71 points in the Pioneers’ 144-99 victory Friday in the season opener against Finlandia.

The sports pundits will be quick to point out that these exhibitions of swish happened during Division III basketball. But even Michael Jordan himself has never been reported to drop triple digits in a simple shootaround.
