While there’s your run of the mill Q&A interviews, NBC’s Peter Bailey likes his subjects to reveal little known parts of their life. That’s what you’ll get from his discussion with TDE rapper ScHoolboy Q.

Born Quincy Hanley, the Los Angeles native said very little about his music and more about family, being a father, and the implication that comes with being a gang member. Though Hip-Hop has taken him away from the streets, ScHoolboy still carries the paranoia that comes with living that life.

“I never shot a video in my hood until ‘Break The Bank,'” he said. In part, that decision is predicated upon ScHoolboy not wanting rival gangs to be able to pinpoint Hoover Crip affiliates. “I’m in Miami right now. They’re on the block right, right, right now,” the rapper continued. ScHoolboy admittedly regrets the decision to feature his homies in the clip.

Hear ScHoolboy Q speak about the aforementioned topics in the visual below.
