Just when you thought you were the biggest 2 Pac fan in the world, somebody comes along and buys his 1996 Hummer.

Those CDs, posters, t-shirts and VHS tapes are cool. But someone just upped the ante when comes to 2 Pac memorabilia.

CNN reports:

Shakur’s customized off-road vehicle, bought by the hip-hop artist only three months before he died in 1996, was sold at auction Thursday for $337,114, according to Boston-based RR Auction.

Shakur personally customized the vehicle, which is equipped with a 6.5-liter, turbo diesel V-8 engine with automatic transmission. The odometer read 10,101 miles at the time of the sale…

The auction winner is a Tupac fan and collector from the Midwest who wishes to remain anonymous, RR Auction said.

In 1996, Hummers ranged in price from $50,000 to $100,000. So whoever this buyer is, they just spent maybe three or four times what ‘Pac paid for it himself.

“It’s an incredible piece of hip-hop history that evokes the invincible spirit of one of rap’s true lyrical giants,” said Robert Livingston, executive vice president of RR Auction to CNN. “We are thrilled at the price achieved and with the continued success of our specialty themed auctions.”

The Hummer went up for sale on May 1 and it is the latest artifact from 2 Pac’s personal items to fetch big money. In April a unearthed love letter he wrote to his high school sweetheart was going for $35,000. One month prior, a bundle featuring CDs of unreleased music and notebooks of song lyrics and music video ideas was on the block for $250,000. A prison letter where he declared that “Thug Life is dead” went on sale in October for $255,000.

Tupac’s life is set to hit the big screen very soon as filming has wrapped on All Eyez On Me, a film depicting his life.
