Luxury French brand Moncler clearly needs some Black people on their design team. How else can you explain how one of their capsule collections features blatant blackface imagery?
Moncler quickly apologized, after getting dragged, by noting that the image the smiling red lipped logo (think: Sambo, and yes, it’s offensive) was inspired by isn’t racist—it’s a close up of a character called Malfi the Penguin.
Too little, too late, the Internets isn’t having it. No one in the chain of command that saw this struggle go from design to production thought this might be offensive? GTFOH.
