Actor and comedian Ricky Harris has died from a heart attack at age 54.
Harris’ manager broke the news to The Hollywood Reporter late Monday night. Many became familiar with Harris in the mid-2000s from his recurring character “Malvo” on the popular TV sitcom Everybody Hates Chris.
However, Hip-Hop circles recognize him from his voice work with Snoop Dogg and Death Row Records. Most notably for the “DJ EZ Dicc” and “Tadow” characters that he played on Snoop’s classic debut Doggystyle.
Harris’ voice was first heard on Ice Cube’s Amerikkka’s Most Wanted album on “Turn Off The Radio.” Harris’ career was a long-standing one as he made his film debut in John Singleton’s 1993 movie Poetic Justice and appeared in 2015’s Pharrell-produced flick DOPE. He was also an alum of Def Comedy Jam.
Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and Chuck D were among the many who paid final respects to Harris via social media.
