A Cleveland stripper who fell 15 feet after her lap dance attempt went terribly wrong has died from her injuries. Lauren Block, of Richmond Heights passed away today, after a week in the hospital.

The 22-year-old was dancing for a customer on Jan. 2 when she fell from a second-floor balcony at Christie’s Cabaret.

Police said the man who was getting the dance explained how it all went down. “He stated that she grabbed the rail, as he was facing away from the balcony, and she tried to complete some sort of dance jump/dance move, and accidentally went head first over the rail.”

After the fall Block wasn’t moving, according to a witness. She was rushed to MetroHealth Medical Center, sustained head injuries, and was initially listed in critical condition. “We would like to thank the community for their outpouring of support and prayers for Lauren,” Blocks family said in a statement.  “She has passed away but is an organ donor, and we hope this will enable her to save many lives and live on through others.  We would like to express our gratitude to the staff at MetroHealth. They worked tirelessly to do all they could to save her life. We ask that the media respect our privacy during this difficult time. We know that she’s in God’s hands.”

Last week, Block was the focus of a Gawker.com story called It’s Been A Bad 24 Hours For Strippers.
