With just a few days to spare before the release of his sixth solo album Student Of The Game April 16th, N.O.R.E. drops a documentary to further promote the project.
The Queens rapper properly kicks things off with a formal introduction and the story of how he became known as Noreaga, before taking viewers on a 15 minute ride of old and new footage, that tells the story of how he came into the game. N.O.R.E. talks about his start in Capone-N-Noreaga, and how Capone’s incarceration led him to become a solo artist. The tale eventually segues into the MC’s current life and his forthcoming project
“That’s the reason I titled it Student Of The Game,” explains N.O.R.E., who says he wanted to work with a host of new producers and artist. “This album is probably the most fun I’ve had in the record business in a long time, because I just wanna piss people off.”
“I don’t really want everybody to like this album. I don’t want the kid who’s into everything that’s going on right now to like this album. I don’t want the old dude who’s just into the old Hip-H0p, and creases in his jeans… I want him to like some joints, but I don’t want him to like the album.”
Having a provided a range of different records from the Large Professor-produced “Built Pyramids” to “Tadow,” featuring French Montana and 2 Chainz, we’d say that N.O.R.E. may see his hopes come to fruition.
