Frank Ocean‘s father doesn’t appreciate how his son has been portraying him on Tumblr, so he’s suing.
TMZ reports that Ocean’s father, Calvin Cooksey, filed a defamation lawsuit over a Tumblr post Frank posted last summer. The post came in the wake of the Orlando shooting massacre at LGBTQ-friendly Pulse nightclub. Frank accused his father of calling someone a “f*ggot” in front of him when he was just 6-years old.
The post read:
“I was 6 years old when I heard my dad call our transgender waitress a f****t as he dragged me out of a neighborhood diner saying we wouldn’t be served because she was dirty.”
Cooksey says Frank is lying and that the story has cost him money and opportunities in film and music. He wants $14.5 million for his troubles.
Cooksey previously sued Russell Simmons for comments posted about him on Global Grind. Cooksey alleges that he was called a “dead beat dad” on the website and hit Rush with a $142 million lawsuit.
