Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali has always expressed that he’s a Hip-Hop head, but we never knew he was an MC a decade ago.

The Oakland native was once an artist signed to the legendary Hieroglyphics crew’s Hiero Imperium label. Rapping under the name Prince Ali, he put out two albums, 2006’s Corner Ensemble and 2007’s Curb Side Service.

During his time there he rapped alongside the likes of Casual, Planet Asia and Keith Murray on his single “The Majors.”

His career as a rapper didn’t last long as he landed a role in the film The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button a year after his last album. Since then he’s gone on to star in House Of Cards, Luke Cage and Moonlight.

Judging from what you’ve heard. What do you think of Ali as an MC.
