Anansa Sims has made a splash in the modeling world for her head-turning looks as part of the “curve” market, and is signed to one of the world’s top agencies. In the course of making a name for herself in the industry, it wouldn’t be surprising if Ms. Sims’ career follows a similar track to that of her famous mother.
Sims, who models for the Wilhelmina Los Angeles: Curve agency, is the daughter of Beverly Johnson, a legend in the modeling world and the first Black woman to land the cover of Vouge. In fact, Johnson’s appearance on the magazine cover in 1974 broke a major barrier for other Black models and ushered in a new era.
In the “curve” market, Anansa Sims might stand above the rest based on looks alone but she’s also extremely body-positive and has a loyal Instagram following that is dialed into her bio motto of “#sexyaintasizeitsanattitude.”
Sims, who also works as a motivational speaker, isn’t just a pretty face as she’s a proud MBA graduate.
