Rocky claims his parents named him after Rakim and he’s flirting with the idea of naming his child Kanye when the time comes.
Heavily influenced by Houston’s sound, Rocky admits he’s never been there but he admires the city. “I’m quite sure Wu-Tang had never been to China before, but they were influenced [by Chinese culture] and you couldn’t tell them that they weren’t.”
Rocky also builds on the fact that his crew all have the ASAP name in front of their own and he made sure he secured a record deal that would allow him to put out other artists on his RCA label.
When asked about his relationship with Drake, Rock states that Drizzy posted his “Purple Swag” video on his blog and reached out to him to let him know he was an influence. Rocky credits him for that and is now a part of Drake’s Club Paradise Tour.
“They call him corny but it is what it is. I’d smack the s**t out of somebody for Drake.“
He would also smack somebody for Mac Miller and although Rocky’s no longer homophobic, he can’t hang out with Brandon (Lil B) because he wears “my grandmother’s earrings.”
