The Game Awards Complete List of Winners

Source: The Game Awards / The Game Awards 2022

The Game Awards went down live at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 8, celebrating the best video games of the year.

Coming into the night, God of War: Ragnarök led all games with ten nominations and with Elden Ring and Horzion Forbidden West close behind with seven.

It looked like God of War: Ragnarök was heading towards a big night, winning six Game Awards, but Elden Ring took home the night’s most significant award, Game of The Year.

FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki accepted the award, hinting at more content coming to Elden Ring and a new game from the studio. He also thanked author George R.R. Martin who wrote the backstory for the game.

In addition to Game of The Year, Elden Ring also won Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best RPG. Surprisingly, Horizon Forbidden West was shut out.
