Mitt Romney has found support in Herman Cain. Romney has been criticized over his unwillingness to release more than two years worth of tax returns, as it will reveal that he placed money in off-shore accounts in order to remain in a 13 percent tax bracket, despite making hundreds of millions of dollars. “Let me say this as emphatically as I can: Who cares about Mitt Romney’s tax returns?” Cain said in a video published by the Sacramento Bee, Tuesday (July 24). “Secondly, I love the fact that the guy is rich. You got people who are trying to make it seem like being rich is bad.”

Of course Cain is (once again) off base, since no one ever said that being rich was bad.  In fact, many who run for the nation’s highest office are usually financially stable, however, the secrecy surrounding Romney’s finances contribute to his reputation for being out-of-touch with average citizens, which may lampoon his bid for president. A new poll released by the Wall Street Journal shows President Obama’s narrow victory over Romney with 49 percent of those registered saying they would give the president another four years, compared to 43 percent in favor of the former governor.

Romney fared better in other areas, like the 60 percent of those surveyed who said the country is going in the wrong direction, and 53 percent disapproving of the job Obama is doing, compared to 44 percent who approved.

As for the question of whether or not Romney can relate to average Americans, Obama came out on top grabbing 50 percent of the votes.

With only four months to go until the election, both candidates continue to face “double-digit negatives” in the polls. “There is no precedent for that in the modern era,” said Bill McInruff, who helped conduct the survey.

When it comes to the numbers in his bank account, Romney has run into another scandal, this time over his Twitter followers. After he gained more than 100,00 followers in a few days, the 65-year-old  was accused of buying  the online support, claims of which his campaign has denied—even though  he could most definitely afford to do so.
