Arthur Bundrage is a man of principle. The alleged robber, hailing from East Syracuse, N.Y., stole what he thought was $20,000 from Alliance Bank, Monday (Oct. 22). Much to his chagrin, the 28-year-old found out that he was given less than he thought.

According to cops, Bundrage hit the bank up at about 9 a.m., demanding the money. Initially unmoved by his request, a teller refused to give him the dough, even though he threatened her, and showed his weapon. She  later gave in, forking over an undisclosed amount.

After the money was handed over, Bundrage fled the scene only to count the funds and learn that he was in fact shortchanged. Like any smart person would, he returned to the location to recoup what he felt he deserved, unaware that cops had arrived to investigate the matter. Police—who were in the front of the building— found him at a locked back door trying to make his way back inside.

Instead of getting his money, the failed criminal was taken into custody without incident, and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. He was awaiting arraignment as of Tuesday (Oct. 23).

According to police, Bundrage does not yet have a lawyer.
