Now this is what you call a Halloween treat. Esteemed Hip-Hop producer, and occasional MC, the Alchemist hooked up with eyewear brand 9FIVE to create pair of limited edition sunglasses. Part of the deal is a double sided 7″ single (or maybe album?) called “Yacht Rock” that features a number well-respected rappers having a go over spooky production from Alan The Chemist fit for any boat trip.
“Side A” features Action Bronson, Roc Marciano and Oh No applying their skill trade to a track that starts out as a buttery smooth instrumental that get outfitted with occasional chord stutters and actually switches up for each MC. “Side B” features more ethereal grooves but this time the MCs are Big Twins, Blu and Chuck Inglish.
Actually, according to Al, “Yacht Rock” is really an LP. “I JUST DROPPED A 12 MINUTE ALBUM WiTH UR FAVORITE RAPPERS OVER YACHT MUSIC THRU A SUNGLASS COMPANY FOR FREE,” he tweeted.
