Former Cash Money Hot Boy Turk Pleads For Fair Case
It has been seven years since former Cash Money Hot Boy, Tab “Turk” Virgil was convicted on Federal charges for his involvement in the 2004 shooting on a Tennessee police officer. Now the rapper is claiming that the justice system has dealt him an unjust deal concerning his prison time. In a recent recorded conversation from prison, Turk lays out the problems with his current case saying,
“The reason while I’m still incarcerated, it has a lot to do with my jail credit. The powers that be refuse to give me what is due to me. I have been trying to resolve this problem for the last 30 months but still I remain incarcerated.”
The rapper goes on to label himself a Hip-Hop prisoner and says,
“Its not a matter of guilty or not guilty now because I have been found guilty in the eye sight of the powers that be and I have done the time for the crime that I have been accused of…This is a violation of my 8 Amendment.”
Turk was a member of the wildly successful Southern foursome The Hot Boys in the mid-‘90s to early 2000s, consisting of Lil Wayne, Juvenile and B.G. He released one solo album on Cash Money records in 2001 before parting ways with the label in 2003.
In 2006, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison after entering a “best interest” plea for his role in the 2004 shooting of a S.W.A.T. team deputy. Turk was accused of firing shots from a bedroom closet during a drug raid. The shots fired from inside the closet hit S.W.A.T. team member Chris Harris four times.
he rapper’s younger brother was gunned down in New Orleans earlier this year.
