Yaasin Bey has been rather giving with the unreleased material lately. The first instance came just days ago, when footage of the Brooklyn native performing an unheard track produced by Kanye West, titled “The Light is Not Afraid of the Dark,” in Chicago surfaced. Today, we got wind that the artist formerly known as Mos Def also recently premiered two of his collaboration’s with Mannie Fresh at a Phoenix concert.

The songs, called “Black Jesus” and “Young Love,” are scheduled to appear on Bey and Fresh’s forthcoming joint album OMFGOD. On both records, the former Rawkus MC seamlessly blends his off-kilter harmonies with thought provoking rhymes over Fresh’s patented bounce-heavy production.

Throughout the first cut, Bey soulfully sings “Hallelujah, sweet Black Jesus,” as he spits rhythmic bars. The second record sounds more bass heavy, and is a little difficult to hear in the grainy footage. Nevertheless, any new product from Bey is greatly appreciated.

OMFGOD will be released digitally sometime this year, with the pair waiting to release the record after Bey’s film schedule slows down. See the footage of “Black Jesus” below. “Young Love” can be seen on the following page.
