Pusha T is currently on a press run for his new album My Name Is My Name, which gave him an opportunity to sit with the Sway In The Morning crew and special guest, DJ Premier. There, the veteran MC discussed a range of topics concerning his solo debut, how he writes songs, and even recollected the day his parents found out he was dealing drugs.

His older brother Gene Thornton (b.k.a. Malice), five years Pusha’s senior, got caught peddling narcotics first during his teenage years.

In a similar fashion, the G.O.O.D. Music rapper got pinched my his family years later. “As I got older, I just ventured off into that world. And one time, somebody had owed me some money,” Pusha recalled.

“We got into a scuffle — me and the person got into a scuffle. Me and a couple guys got into a scuffle. And the guy came back and shot in front of my parent’s home.”

At the time, his parents weren’t in their house, but the unruly activity prompted the MC’s neighbors to call the police. You know what happened next.

Fans can hear the pull story on page three, but we’ve included each portion of Pusha T’s interview with Sway for your viewing pleasure.
