The Source Magazine has made the offices of Def Jam very happy by nabbing Rick Ross and Pusha T for the covers of their upcoming November 2013 issue.
Ironically, the two rap drug lords recently shared screen time for the “Hold On” video, a cut found on Pusha’s latest album, My Name Is My Name. Now they’re sharing the gloss of the storied Hip-Hop publication.
It marks a ceremonious event for both rappers.
For Pusha, it is his first cover on The Source–solo or as a member of the Clipse. It should make good promotion for his recently released LP, which stalled out at 119K sold as of yesterday (November 13).
Rick Ross has had quite the opposite of experience with the mag, appearing on his fifth cover going into his sixth album, exclaiming he was “It felt good as f*ck,” evident that his hustle has been well documented. His Mastermind album is due out in stores December 17.
Ross is no stranger to being in the front, recently gracing the cover of RESPECT in a similar fashion, sporting his tattooed frame.
You can catch both editions of the magazine in stores on November 26. Hit the gallery to check both covers and the videos with behind-the-scenes footage from each photoshoot.
