Chance The Rapper unfortunately had to curve a great opportunity to perform at the second leg of Coachella this weekend, as he grew ill and had to be hospitalized.

While details surrounding the nature of the Chicago rookie phenom’s illness, his management released a statement (and a picture of him laid up in a hospital) to assure fans that all was well.

On behalf of Chance and our entire team- We sincerely regret to have to cancel our 2nd weekend at coachella.

Chance fell ill on Friday night & was admitted to the hospital today- Doctors and family are with him & he is expected to make a full recovery. Thank you for the prayers and support during this time, Chance, the CTR team and family deeply appreciate it.

Best,

CTR MGMT.

Chance (real name Chancelor Bennett) recently celebrated his 21st birthday and took the Twitter to flex a bit of maturity on his own. “Don’t worry. I’ll have a full recovery in time for my @coachella set Monday night,” he said, adding a strong arm emoticon for good measure. Last weekend at the hectic festival, he appeared perfectly healthy as he brought out Justin Bieber for a surprise performance. Bennett gain popularity with the Hip-Hop community for his critically acclaimed LP Acid Rap so maybe the partying became too much for the youngster.

In a related but otherwise isolated incident, a 24-year-old Oakland woman died from an apparent drug and alcohol overdose after she collapsed during the first weekend of the festival.
