Funkmaster Flex recently made an appearance on ESPN’s Highly Questionable to talk b-ball and struggle bars. While the staunch NYC representer couldn’t be baited to standing up for his New York Knicks and all the head-scratching moves they have begun to make going into the offseason, he did manage to throw 2 Chainz under the bus for having a less-than-stellar freestyle on his Hot 97 radio show.

“All the rappers come on your show and the freestyle,” said a slick Dan Le Batard. “Give me the guy who you were watching and was like ‘This is awful.'”

In only took a couple of seconds for Funk Flex to reach in his memory bank for the name but his hesitation was evident. Prying it out of him, he sheepishly admitted it was the Hair Weave Killer who was the most unimpressive to him.

Now we at Hip-Hop Wired have watched 2 Chainz 2012 performance and while he didn’t invent a new rhyme scheme in the slightest, it’s surprising that particular freestyle struck a chord with him as being the worst. Surely even the most casual listener of his show would cite Drake’s BlackBerrygate as one of the most sorry moments in his show’s history.

Flex still had a rational explanation for his pick, however. “I think I caught him off guard,” he remembered. “I think he didn’t expect me to ask him to do. I’ve heard him on show’s freestyling before so I knew he could handle it. But that day he couldn’t handle it.”

Check out the full interview in the video below and check out the freestyle in question on the other page. Meanwhile 2 Chainz has been too busy promoting his upcoming freeEp to actually give a damn.
