Pharrell Williams is arguably the biggest producer in music. The humble beginnings of his musical journey began in his hometown of Virginia Beach, Va., where he was recently awarded the key to the city and a state proclamation to make June 7 Pharrell Williams Day.
Extremely humbled, Pharrell gave a heartfelt speech at his alma mater, Princess Anne High School, as the cameras rolled. He described his experiences in the classroom as the polar opposite to the age-old story of teachers who didn’t truly care about their students. “My teachers here at PA kept telling me I could,” Pharrell said.
The Grammy winner cited music teacher Alan Sharps and others for pushing him to do great things.
Additionally, Pharrell announced his From One Hand To AnOTHER charity’s partnership with Everfi, a company that integrates technology into the teaching process to keep students engaged.
