Earlier this week, NBA player Chris Copeland, his wife and another woman were injured in a stabbing incident outside of 1OAK nightclub in New York City. The attacker was arrested along with Atlanta Hawks players Pero Antić and Thabo Sefolosha, the later of whom has a season ending injury to show for his skirmish with police.

In video footage, authorities can be seen grabbing Sefolosha by the neck and forcing him to the ground, as he and Antić were apprehended for “for trying to prevent police from setting up a crime scene.”

The shooting guard suffered a fractured right fibula and ligament damage.

“This is a very difficult situation for Thabo and our thoughts and support will be with him during his recovery,” Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said in a statement. “We know that his approach and dedication will serve him well in his rehabilitation. Our team remains focused and will be prepared as we head into the postseason.”

At least four members of the NYPD can be seen taking down the 6’7″, 220-pound Sefolosha.

Copeland was in town because his Indiana Pacers were set to play his former team, the New York Knicks, the next night (April 8). The Atlanta Hawks played the Brooklyn Nets the same night.
