Tom Hanks, esteemed actor, is a white man, and has a son, also white and named Chet Haze, who happens to be a struggle rapper. Chet is apparently liberal with his use of the N-word on Instagram.
“F*ck yall hating ass ni**az I’ll never stop chasing my dream,” wrote Chet on Instagram in a message about friends he’s lost along his journey from being born Chester Hanks and privilege to trying to get taken seriously as an MC. Oh word?
There will be those that say, “Hey, he has Black friends, he gets a pass” or “Well he used ni**a versus ni**er, so it’s fine.”
To that we say, Get all thee way the f*ck outta here with that bullsh*t.
All of Chet’s Black friends better correct this man’s errs, or they are complacent and enablers—and a word that sounds like boon.
