The Bronx In The 1970s Comes To Life In The Get Down Trailer
The Get Down drew excitement off G.P. considering it follows a group of teens in The Bronx in the 1970s and its touting as a “Hip-Hop drama.” Netflix just dropped a trailer that reveals this Baz Luhrmann-helmed project is much more.
In the clip we see an afro’d teen being chased by a gang, a disco dancer getting busy and Grandmaster Flash going to work on the wheels of steel. We also have pistols and teenaged love angst. too—because, The Bronx.
Of course Hip-Hop in its halcyon days get plenty of shine—at least they got the clothing right.
