TMZ is reporting that Suge Knight‘s new lawyer has filed paperwork claiming that Dr. Dre and the L.A. County Sheriff’s office set him up to be killed two years ago

In 2014, Suge Knight was shot multiple times at popular Los Angeles nightclub 1OAK at a party hosted by Chris Brown during MTV Video Music Awards weekend.

According to documents that Knight’s lawyer, Thaddeus Culpepper, is filing, Sheriff’s Deputy Henry Boyd knowingly allowed the armed would be shooter inside of the club. Culpepper claims to have video surveillance Boyd, who was working the door at the club that night, letting the gunman in just moments for the non-fatal shots rang out.

Culpepper’s documents also allege that the gunman confessed that Knight’s former Death Row Records business partner Dr. Dre paid the shooter $50,000 to carry out the mission. The documents go on to claim that the Sheriff’s department later released the gunman from custody for no reason. Culpepper isn’t stopping there though. He is also saying that he is privy to video footage shot at LAX Airport showing Deputy Boyd helping the gunman flee the country.

TMZ previously reported that the L.A. County Sheriff’s office had identified the prime suspect in the shooting, but did not have enough witness testimony to make an arrest.

Knight is currently in jail awaiting trial for his role in a fatal 2015 hit-and-run where he was seen running over and killing a man who confronted him on the set of Straight Outta Compton. According to the NY Daily News, Culpepper states that the Sheriff’s office has refused to give him and Knight any information on his shooting since that incident.

Since he has been in custody, Knight has claimed that he has suffered from blindness, medical neglect and isolation from his family.
