Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave, born Ronald Collins, has been charged with murder. The 33-year-old can be scene shooting into a crowd in surveillance footage from Irving Plaza on Wednesday night (May 25) at a T.I. concert.

if (d.getElementById(id)) return;
var js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;

}(document, ‘script’, ‘wibbitz-static-embed’));
Yesterday (May 26), police arrested Troy Ave at NYU Hospital where he was recovering from a gunshot wound to the leg. It is unclear whether or not he shot himself or was shot at.
In the surveillance footage shared by NYPD, a man that sure looks like Troy Ave is seen bursting into a room and letting off one shot. Reportedly the man who walked into the room with the shooter and ran head of him was Ronald McPhatter, a long time friend and bodyguard of Troy Ave who died after being shot in the abdomen.
The “Your Style” rapper was also charged with illegal possession of a weapon.
As for T.I., he took to Instagram yesterday evening to express his condolences.
“My heart is heavy today,” wrote Tip. “Our music is intended to save lives, like it has mine and many others.”
