The Roots are back in the (recording) studio working on a new Roots album. The new project is called, Endgame, but don’t bank on it being their last, though.
Questlove took to Instagram to reveal the Philadelphia crew has an Roots album in the oven.
“#Mood my face listenin to #Endgame playback,” read the caption of picture of Prodigy of Mobb Deep’s mean mugging face.
More info gleamed from Quest’s IG (see on the flip) is that the group is sampling themselves to create beats as they did for Illadelphhalflife. Stro Elliot of the Procussions is seen flipping a mean groove on a beat machine in Electric Lady Studios in NYC.
We’re sold.
No word on a release date of the Roots Album, but Endgame will be The Roots’ 17th proper album. SEVENTEENTH.
