Police in Southern California announced Wednesday (Feb.6) that they are looking for a former LAPD officer implicated in the double murder of a newly engaged couple on Super Bowl Sunday. Christopher Jordan Dorner was upset over being fired and sought revenge against victims, Monica Quan and Keith Lawrence.

The couple left a Super Bowl party at around 7 p.m. They were found dead in their car, at an Irvine parking structure, two hours later. Autopsies concluded that Quan, 28, and Lawrence, 27, died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Quan’s father, Randy, was the LAPD’s first Asian-American police chief, and was named in an online manifesto published by Dorner. In the multi-page work, which stands at more than 10,000 words, Dorner promised to kill the family members of Quan and others.”I never had the opportunity to have a family of my own, I’m terminating yours. Quan, Anderson, Evans, and BOR members Look your wives/husbands and surviving children directly in the face and tell them the truth as to why your children are dead.”

He addressed the writings to “America,” and described his plan to kill as being a “necessary evil.”

“I know I will be villified [sic] by the LAPD and the media, unfortunately, this is a necessary evil that I do not enjoy but must partake and complete for substantial change to occur within the LAPD and reclaim my name.”

Early Thursday, Dorner shot three LAPD officers, killing one. Two of the officers were on their way to a police detail about Dorner when he ambushed them.

According to authorities, the former Navy reservist is driving a blue of grey Nissan Titan truck, with the license plate number 8D83987. Dorner is believed to be armed and dangerous, and wearing army fatigues.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts are asked to contact Irvine police at 949-724-7192, or call 911.
