Rashad may not be a household name just yet, but he’s doing everything in his power to make that a reality. The crooner captures that grind on a track, titled “The Life,“ that’s unconventional by R&B standards, but is an accurate depiction of treading the road to success. Styles P is featured on the cut, and adds a certain street panache to the gritty record with a verse from an OG’s perspective.
“You won’t stop me from getting it. It’s nothing you can do/ You won’t stop me from getting it. It’s nothing left to prove,” sings Rashad, as he coasts through the New York City streets in the black and white visuals. If anything, the visual does a phenomenal job of capturing the aesthetic of trying to make it in the Big Apple, by follow both Rashad’s story and the lives of others.
Known in large for his contribution to Stalley’s Lincoln Way Nights, Rashad branched out on his own with a full length LP, titled Museum. “The Life” is among a whopping 22 tracks that can be found on the deluxe version of the project, available on iTunes now.
