Shown here flashing gang signs as a high school senior, Hernandez may have possible ties with a Blood gang in Connecticut.
Police searched Hernandez’s home before he was arrested. Hernandez recently had the home professionally cleaned the day the murder victim’s body was discovered, so there’s that.
Hernandez may also have gang tattoos. That’s probably frowned upon in court.
Authorities requested Hernandez turn over his cell phone reported that his lawyer handed it to them…broken into pieces. They also believe he intentionally broke his home security system.
Hernandez was denied bail by Bristol County Judge Renee P. Dupuis. The judge said that while evidence was circumstantial, the prosecution presented a “very, very strong” case.
Odin Lloyd was reportedly dating the sister of Hernandez’s fiancé, and the Lloyd family said the men were friends and together on the last night of Lloyd’s life. Lloyd was found dead last week in an industrial area a mile away from Hernandez’s suburban home.
As a result of the Lloyd investigation, Hernandez is being sought as a suspect in a 2012 double homicide in downtown Boston.
Two other men (Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace) are alleged to have been with Hernandez the night of Lloyd’s murder. Surveillance video taken from Hernandez’s home security system reportedly show the player walking around with a gun to his basement.
Carlos Ortiz, was arrested on Wednesday (June 26)in the former player’s hometown of Bristol, Conn. Ortiz was seized in connection with the Hernandez investigation.
Along with first-degree murder charges which carry a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole, Hernandez also faces four illegal firearm possession charges.
