Kanye West had a lot to get off of his chest. After getting into a feud with Jimmy Kimmel after the comedian spoofed his interview with the BBC’s Zane Lowe, Yeezy appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night (Oct. 9). The result was a meandering yet totally fascinating interview.

After describing their issues as a “big dumb fight on Twitter,” Kimmel kicked things off by being contrite and saying he really felt bad that West felt a ways about his spoof. Throughout the extensive interview that followed was West would set off into stream of consciousness answers that when you sit back and actually listen, made complete and total sense.

With Kimmel setting up the soap box, Yeezy touched on everything from being treated like a zoo animal to being a creative genius to why he said the host looked like SpongeBob SquarePants. Of course, the topic leather jogging pants was also discussed at length.

I was like well this is the one person I know. So I can go out and let out everything that I feel about every single bogus weekly cover, every single bogus skit, every single rumor and barbershop…everything that people feel is okay to treat celebrities like zoo animals or act like what they’re saying is not serious or their dreams are not serious or their life is not serious.

Kimmel knows West is a good guy because he took a Southwest flight to his friend’s wedding and even took a picture with his dad. True.

Yeezy Is Not A Politician, But He Is Creative Genius

According to Yeezy, the “humble bragging” is because he just can’t tell a lie. “I’m not running for office. I’m just here to make good music, make people feel good when they hear my music. And you know, when I did that interview, I was really vocal about a lot of things I had been dealing with over the past 10 years when I was putting in the classification of ‘just a celebrity’ because for me, I’m a creative genius and there’s no other way to word it. I know you’re not supposed to say that about yourself, and I say things the wrong way a lot of times, but my intention is always positive. And I want to bring more things to the world.”

Also, in the above clip we learned that Yeezy spent two his checks from his old telemarketing gig on his first pair of Gucci slipper and that he spoke to Quincy Jones at John Legend’s wedding. Swag.

Near the conclusion of the interview, Yeezy spoke on paparazzi getting out pocket. It’s hard to disagree on that point.

Never think that I’m not from Chicago for one second. And think you can walk up and disrespect me and my family constantly.”
