The force and stubbornness of a Chicago bull was with Kanye West as he landed his Yeezus tour in his hometown and sprung another pop-up show ripe with Confederate flag apparel.
Like he did in Los Angeles and NYC, a boutique is created from thin air and turns into a live art exhibit.
Kanye recently told a Philly radio station that his favoritism towards the controversial symbol stems from his liking of its symmetry and designs and feels Hip-Hop’s influence is strong enough to whitewash the racial overtones associated with the flag.
The Hip-Hop community hasn’t exactly sided with the fearless thespian who’s currently up for a couple Grammy Awards. Lord Jamar of the veteran group, Brand Nubian has been vehemently outspoken towards Kanye’s actions and Q-Tip let out a few expletives regarding the matter as well.
Designer and painter Virgil Abloh has been riding with Ye every step of the way and announced the storefront’s new location of 46 East Oak St. on his Twitter account. It will remain fully operation until Friday December 20 or until supplies run dry.
