Comedy rock star Kevin Hart is gaming up to close out 2013 in a big way with his latest theatrical release, Grudge Match. But, as you can see in our chat with the bankable star, he’s a knock out in more ways than one.

The Philly native has continued to emerge as a talented, leading comedic talent on the big, and small screen.

Starring alongside screen legends Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone as fast-talking boxing promoter, Dante Slate, Jr., Hart’s job of coaxing two retirement-aged fighters to settle a thirty year old grudge is mired in comedy gold. “He has a chip on his shoulder, and his dad is a piece of sh-t,” Hart explains when telling us about his character. “He has a chance to make a lot of money and make a name for himself by putting together a fight with men of their age, and selling it as ‘Grudge Match’.”

Incredibly hardworking, the Think Like a Man, Too actor has already built his name up as a force within Hollywood. As not only a comedian, an actor, a writer, producer, and an executive of his own company, HartBeat Productions, Kevin will also celebrate the end of a successful year with not one, not two, but three major productions for 2014. With every proven trump, the North Philly native is showing Tinsel Town that his brand of funny is a proven staple in both stadiums and screens around the globe.

The Herculean funny man, who just happens to be Forbes’ sixth top-earning comedian, has already talked with us about which rapper would pull a Beyoncé.

In this full clip, he sits down with Hip-Hop Wired to break down his Grudge Match character, reminiscence about his first fight ever, and explains how Metal Gear Solid took his video game virginity.

Grudge Match also stars Kim Basinger, Alan Arkin, and Jon Bernthal, and will knock out audiences on Christmas Day.
